1-Hour Lessons
We will come to your classroom to teach a 1-hour lesson, equipped with resources, hands-on activities, and resource materials. Lessons are designed to be age-appropriate, support your curriculum, and meet your needs. Choose from these themes:
- Yellowstone Ecology & Adaptations - a focus on habitats and classification of animals of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
- Scat & Tracks - learn how to identify animals by scat, track, bones, and skulls.
- Conservation & the Sanctuary Mission - a choice of lessons, both which include the impact of human activity on wildlife.
Schools within Carbon County - $50 per classroom visit.
Schools outside of Carbon County - $150 per classroom visit + Roundtrip mileage
- $45 for each additional hour long lesson
- Actual mileage will be invoiced after the visit
If 9 am or 1 pm does not work in your schedule - please book the day you want for the classroom visit and either morning or afternoon. In the School Classroom Visit Form below, state your preferred time. We will confirm that time with you once we have received your booking and form.
We will plan on arriving 15-30 minutes prior to our scheduled visit.
Please contact YWS at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel.
If the Sanctuary has an unexpected closure due to weather, animal care, etc., YWS will contact you as soon as possible, ideally 24 hours in advance and work with you to reschedule.
