This special 2 hour event highlights our amazing North American badger, Roxanne. This is a big day for Roxanne as we all become artists to celebrate her 4th birthday! Pre-Registration is REQUIRED.
Paint & Sip with Roxanne - April 11th! 🎨🍷
Join us for a creative afternoon as local artist Janice Polzin guides you in painting a portrait of one of our incredible resident animals, Roxanne the North American badger. Enjoy a selection of beverages provided by our board members while bringing your own version of Roxanne to life on canvas.
Before the event, you have the option to join a private tour at 1:00 PM to meet some of our amazing resident animals. This is a great opportunity to learn their stories and get inspired before picking up your paintbrush. If you’d like to join, check in at the gift shop when you arrive.
At 1:45 PM, check in at the gift shop and head to the Education Building to get set up. Then at 2:00 PM, the Paint & Sip fun begins. Janice, a dedicated artist in Carbon County, is also the talent behind many of Red Lodge’s beautiful murals, including the one on our badger enclosure at Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary.
Roxanne’s story:
Roxanne’s mother was killed by a rancher, which is unfortunately not uncommon in the West. The rancher later discovered Roxanne, only a few days old, in her den. She was taken to Montana Wild, a rehabilitation center, where she was hand raised. Because she became habituated to human care, she could not be released back into the wild. At six weeks of age, she came to her new home at YWS. This April will be Roxanne's 4th birthday and we're excited to highlight her this year through our Spring Paint and Sip!

1:45 PM – Check in at the gift shop. Then, head to the Education Building to get set up.
2:00 PM – Let the creativity begin! Paint & Sip kicks off with artist Janice Polzin and sips served by our board members.
4:00 PM – Your masterpiece is complete, and your artist journey has begun.

A full refund will be provided if cancellation is made 48 hours in advance. Cancellations less than 48 hours in advance receive a 50% refund on tickets.
If the Sanctuary has an unexpected closure due to weather, animal care, etc. you may choose between
a) A full refund of your tickets purchased.
b) Applying your purchase to a future/rescheduled visit.
c) Apply your ticket purchase to a donation to the Sanctuary.
