School Teachers - Adopt an Animal Program

Bring Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary to your classroom!

In this unique program, your students can “adopt” one of the 33 resident animals at the Sanctuary. Classroom adoptions are a fun and meaningful way to connect young learners with native wildlife of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem while fostering responsibility and conservation awareness.

Each adoption comes with engaging educational materials designed to spark curiosity and give every student a sense of personal connection to their adopted species.

Why Adopt? By adopting a Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary animal, your classroom builds a hands-on connection to the wildlife of our region. Students learn not only the natural history of their chosen species, but also the importance of conservation and care for the world around them. It’s a memorable, interactive way to bring the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem into your classroom.

Each Classroom Adoption Includes:

  • Adoption Certificate – A personalized certificate for your class.
  • Species Information Guide – Learn about the unique adaptations, habitat, and conservation story of your adopted animal.
  • Individual Student Information Cards – Every student receives their own card to take home.
  • Virtual Classroom Visit – A live, interactive session with our education team to meet your adopted animal and ask questions.
